Shawill Two Way Eyebrow Cake Review

How are you guys?  How’s the start of your March?  I already asked you about that last time and I hope it has been all well for you. ^_^

Aside from the on going heat, I got greeted by my disintegrating supply of my Etude House Drawing Eyebrow pencil.  It still has a little to go but it already reached it point because it’s starting to fall off from its base.  It is time to buy a new refill soon.

To my much dismay, when I went to the nearest Etude House store (SM Lanang Premiere Branch), there was no stock available.  I already went there last month and the week before but there were no stocks for it.  I also decided to buy the whole thing with the body but there was no stock also for my preferred shade, which is shade #1 black-brown.  I finally decided to buy an eyebrow pencil for the meantime, until there are stocks.

I went to Watsons and checked out affordable and reliable eyebrow pencils from Nichido.  The problem that I always face when buying eyebrow pencils is that I don’t know how to sharpen them properly.  I always sharpen them too low to get right amount of lead.  It becomes unpractical for me. T^T.  I also checked out other stalls for other eyebrow pencils  and I came by with Shawill Two Way Eyebrow Cake.

I believe I’ve read reviews of eyebrow cakes and kits from other brands.  I think I also read one about Shawill.  I also tried using eyeshadow as an eyebrow filler with a slanted brush but I don’t have the correct shade and consistency of an eyeshadow to be used.  So I decided to give Shawill Two Way Eyebrow Cake a try.

The Details

Shawill Two Way Eyebrow Cake

It’s really affordable at a whooping Php 128.  The price is the same as Etude House Drawing Eyebrow Pencil.

It's Php 128 from Watsons (SM Lanang Premiere).  I believe it has the same price for all Watsons branches.

Packaging

The eye shadow cake is just enclosed in a fitted box and shows the colors outright.  It has the shade number on the box and at the back of the container as well.  Important details are printed on the box only.

The back of the box contains the instructions how to use it and some images for you to follow.  It also contains the shade number, which is 002.  It has details of where it was made and the distributor.  Notice the RAW MATERIALS FROM ITALY.  I can attest that the product is in good quality.

Ingredients are located on the side with the expiration date water mark.  Can you read all those chemicals?  Pro-organics will be wary on those.   I'm no expert on the effects but it really can't be helped.

The case is quite durable with a firm clasp, ensuring the product clean.

The back only has minor details about the product.  You really have to refer to the box for major details such as ingredients, instructions, and the expiration date.

What You Get

Only the two eyebrow cakes and a free slanted brush.   The brush is not angled properly and stiff if you brush along.  It’s not dense enough to get most of the product.  I prefer to use my Marionaud slanted brush.

Two two shades and one free brush.

The free slanted brush.

Swatches

The shade number I have is #2.   I don’t know what is shade number 1 and if there is even a number 3.  Let me know if you know. ^_^

It only has two shades, brown and a greyish-black.  You can use them as is or mix them to achieve your desired shade.  It is quite pigmented but you need to pat the brush on the product to make the shade stronger.  You can dampen your brush too to make the shade more vivid.

Top swatch:  The mix of brown and grey-black.
Middle swatch:  Grey-black shade. It's not grey and it's quite black at the same time.  It is in between.  Please let me know if you know the correct name for this shade, :D
Bottom swatch:  Brown.

I don’t have images of it being worn but I guarantee that it lasts long more than six hours.  I prep my self around 7 am and work from 8 am to 5 pm.  I wore it yesterday, without even dampening my brush upon application.  I got home around 9 pm and my eyebrows are still there!

In a nut shell, I like its:

  • Affordability (Php 128 in Watsons!)
  • Staying Power

I don’t like...

  • The Parabens in it (I don’t really mind a lot but for some this may be a real NO)
  • The brush that came with it.

Shawill Two Way Eyebrow Cake is a real steal for me.  It is well pigmented and can fill my brows for a long time.  I don’t have to worry about retouching it.  The thing is, I have to get used to using this and start early prepping for the day.  It can get a little tricky using the brush and not as easy using an angled eye brow pencil like Etude House’s.  Not really a big issue on that.  I might repurchase if this runs out!  So, I’ll update you on how long this baby lasts on me ‘cause I need to fill my brow every time I go out of the house hohoho. ^O^

Have you tried Shawill Two Way Eyebrow Cake?  If yes, in what shade?  Please share! ^O^

  1. Thanks for posting a review on this product. I have been thinking of buying an eyebrow cake but I don't have an idea which brand to purchase. The only drawback is its paraben content nevertheless,I think it is not too harmful because I will not use it on a daily basis.

    Thanks!
