I wanted to dye my hair because I believe the lighter hair color makes me livelier and younger. ohohoohoh. I have strong black hair and felt really bored about it already. Imagine, 20+ years of strong, black hair! That's why I had it colored last year and I want to maintain it. It could be pretty expensive doing this in a salon on a quarterly basis so thank God for DIY hair products. :D
My hair color before, already uneven. |
I came to know about Palty hair dye way back in 2011, when I was still working online. I had a lot of chances getting to know this product and read about a lot of positive reviews about its effectivity. I also read about some so-so and negative comments about it. Nonetheless, I bought it because the positives outweight the negatives.
I got the Milk Tea Brown and was skeptical because the box showed a lighter result but there's a swatch at the box and shows the expected results depending on your current hair color. If your hair has been bleached blonde before application, I bet you'll get the exact color on the box. You can sport a Tsubasa Miyakawa look right away. :D
My result is the one on the top right. Photo Credits to erikkajjang. Click here for her demo and review! |

Since this product has been in the market for quite awhile, there were a lot demos already out in many different blogs and vlogs. Thank God for that I don't have to do a demo. :P
So in a nutshell,
What I Like:
- I found it really easy to do! The box already came witrh English texts, compared to before that it only contained Japanese texts. One had to strongly rely on the images and had to read or watch demos about it.
- It didn't sting!
- It evenly covered my hair! Though, I have strong gray hairs that refused to change color. I got the same effect when I had my hair colored at the salon. At least, the ones on my bangs followed suit. :D
- It didn't dried out my hair. While I was rinsing my hair, my hair wasn't stiff at all to my surprise. I was expecting it would be really stiff like broom hair but it wasn't. I just shampooed twice and didn'r bother conditioning it. LOL I put on the Tsubaki hair moisturizer that came along with it and voila!
What I don't like:
- The smell can be a little bothersome. It was not pleasant for me but my Mom said that it was fine and didn't sting her nose. (Her olfactory nerves can be sensitive. XD)
- There was no cape. This is no biggie but it would be nice to have a free cape don't you think?
Thank God that this product is now available in SM department and grocery stores and in Watsons. I don't have to look it up in online stores anymore. However, the shades are pretty limited so you may still want to look up online stores for other outrageous shades.
I really like what my hair had become, I might repurchase this shade again. It only costs for Php 389.75 from the SM Lanang grocery store. I'm pretty happy with my first experience with Palty Hair Dye. !^o^!
